UNITI expo 2018 branded a total success

[July 9, 2018] – UNITI expo 2018, the leading European trade fair for the fuel retailing and car wash industries, completed its third edition with record numbers. The most attended UNITI expo to date pleased exhibitors and visitors alike – its professional focus, easy layout and market awareness were unanimously praised.

With 467 exhibitors from 37 countries and 17,000 attendees from 120 countries, UNITI expo 2018 solidified its place as the biggest European trade fair for the sector. Almost half of the visitors came from Germany, with 40% from other European countries including Russia and 11% from the remaining continents.  

"The show was very good. The organisation has worked out great. Many visitors from over 100 countries have come to our booth. Fantastic feedback on the hall size, the friendliness of the trade fair organisers, many great conversations and valuable visitors,” said Stefan Kunter, Managing Director at Elaflex. 

The biggest ever UNITI expo spanned across 40,000m2 of Messe Stuttgart in Germany – the state-of-the-art exhibition centre conveniently located just 5 minutes away from an international airport. Across three halls visitors could find a full range of products and services related to the operation of a service station or a professional carwash.  

One event for the whole industry 

Hall 1 held the Convenience area, more focused on the German and DACH markets, with a number of exhibitors and the incredible GenussGARTEN, which offered innovative food concepts as well as free catering services. 

"This exhibition has gone extremely well for us. It was actually so full that we had to reorganise. But this is exactly how I wanted it to be, a full catering with happy people who enjoy the GenussGARTEN FOODCOURT,” said Peter Hack, CEO Hack AG, at the event. 

At the same hall, German and international fuel retailers showcased their innovations with payment and mobile apps as key topics. Brands such as Avia, Shell and Total presented their brand-new mobile payment solutions. 

The Carwash area covered the remaining part of Hall 1 as well as a significant part of Hall 3. Along with revolutionary products from all the major carwash manufacturers and suppliers of chemicals and accessories, small and medium-sized players displayed a range of interesting ideas related to car wash and car care. Exhibitors pointed to the high status and internationality of visitors as one of the key qualities of the trade fair. 

“Our company presents itself in over 90 shows and yet UNITI expo is unique for us, especially because of its high internationality and the combination of the car wash and shop sectors which is really important for us,” observed Manfred Hoffmann, Managing Director at Sonax. 

Forecourt equipment, construction, payment and logistics – the most international segment at UNITI expo – took over all of Hall 5 and a part of Hall 3 with representation from all the major regional and global players involved in the market. Cloud solutions, the digitalization of equipment and services, and new types of fuel were some of the star topics as the industry looks to navigate the waters of the future.  

The integration of subject-specific forums directly into the exhibition halls was particularly popular with visitors and exhibitors alike. Throughout three forums – International Forum, Carwash Forum and UNITI expo Forum – all attendees had the opportunity to gain interesting insights with numerous lectures and presentations by international experts. 

“I think we’ve reached our goal of creating a single event covering all the aspects of the industry with all the key suppliers under one roof. The feedback from exhibitors and visitors has been amazing. We also succeeded in adding value to their visit with a comprehensive conference program. It’s all about offering the maximum convenience to the professionals that attend,” says Bruno Boroewitsch, co-organizer of UNITI expo

At UNITI expo 2018 a special focus was set on the subject of alternative fuels. For the first time the show included a 150m2 dedicated area where innovative companies, research institutes and media publications showcased their newest ideas. In addition to the area, the second day of UNITI expo’s International Forum was entirely focused on the subject of alternative fuels.

The next edition of UNITI expo has been announced for May 26 – 28 of 2020 at the Messe Stuttgart. 

*Organisers inform that re-allocation of booths for 2018 exhibitors will start in the fourth quarter of 2018, while sales to new exhibitors will start at the beginning of 2019 according to the space available.
