Hydrogen fuelling at the center stage of UNITI expo 2016

At UNITI expo 2016 our partner H2 MOBILITY will be presenting its emission-free hydrogen fuel for the first time, along with the service station technology for deliveries, storage, refueling and payment. This is a field that is becoming increasingly important for service station owners and tenants, as it is illustrated in Germany with the debate over the introduction of blue environmental stickers that would allow only diesel vehicles fitted with modern emission-reduction technology into restricted environmental areas.

“Hydrogen technology has made impressive progress in recent years. Both the individual technical components and the complete stations are suited to everyday use and can be integrated in the operations of the service station”, says Nikolas Iwan, Managing Director of H2 MOBILITY.

H2 MOBILITY is responsible for establishing a nationwide hydrogen refueling infrastructure serving fuel cell vehicles across Germany. By 2023, up to 400 hydrogen refueling stations are to be in place, providing the world’s densest network. The shareholders in H2 MOBILITY are Air Liquide, Daimler, Linde, OMV, Shell and TOTAL. So that progress dovetails as closely as possible with the automobile industry BMW, Honda, Intelligent Energy, Toyota and Volkswagen are on board as associated partners.

At UNITI expo, hydrogen dispensers and two fuel cell cars – passenger car and bus – as well as an illustrative model of a fuel cell engine will be on show on a stand in hall 5. Nikolas Iwan will share more information on this exciting and trendsetting topic in his lecture “Our Mission: Hydrogen infrastructure” which will take place June 15 from 2:30 pm to 3 pm as part of the International Forum, situated in hall 3.

Bruno Boroewitsch, partner of UNITI expo and responsible for technology on the topic: “Hydrogen is an intelligent and very promising form of electric transport. Long driving distances and short refueling times, hardly inferior to those of gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles, and unlike the battery-powered electric cars, make fuel cell vehicles a very attractive alternative. I’m convinced that more and more gas stations and truck stops will be offering hydrogen in the future. Therefore, it is an important and trendsetting issue for us, as organizers of the trade fair, as well as for many of our visionary visitors.”

Visitors and exhibitors Statements

Hack AG, Peter Hack, CEO

"Die Messe ist für uns bisher hervorragend gelaufen. Es war tatsächlich so voll, dass wir nochmal neu organisieren mussten. Aber das ist genau das, was ich haben wollte, eine volle Gastronomie mit glücklichen Menschen, die den GenussGARTEN so annehmen hier auch in Stuttgart, wie wir es in Hamburg zur Internorga schon gewohnt sind."

"So far this exhibition has gone extremely well for us. It was actually so full that we had to reorganise. But this is exactly how I wanted it to be, a full catering with happy people who enjoy the GenussGARTEN FOODCOURT here in Stuttgart as much as we are used to at the Internorga in Hamburg."

"Der Auftritt auf der UNITI expo, einer Tankstellenmesse,  war für uns ein neuer und mutiger Schritt. Die Resonanz ist dafür mehr als positiv. Wir haben es geschafft, die Gäste der UNITI expo zu begeistern. Die Branche befindet sich im Aufbruch. Der Sprung zum Neuen ist getan."

"The presence at UNITI expo, a trade fair for the retail petroleum sector, was a new and bold step for us. The response was more than positive. We have managed to delight all guests of UNITI expo. The industry is moving. The future is here."
